I'm back from my weekend with my mother and my little sister and we had a great, great perfect weekend.

We went to see "Gypsy" on Saturday with Patty Lupone at the NY City Center and I cannot say enough about how great this show was. Just thinking about it gives me the chills...It was just excellent.

After the show, we decided to go to Carmine's for dinner. It was a 90 minute wait so we decided to stroll around the city while we waited.

While we were walking around, we happened upon a lot of dogs and wouldn't you know that we were right at the location where "Broadway Barks" was! Bernadette Peters was on Regis last week talking about it and I saw that big hair of hers on stage so we went over to check it out. I was so excited to see her in person even if from such a great distance. I love her.

So, back to Carmine's where we had a blast....oh, and we each had two martinis so we were pretty looped. I had a watermelon slush martini while my counterparts had chocolate covered cherry martinis. For the second drink though, my little sister and I switched. Oh, man. All the food was just so good. We ordered the salad special and the pasta special which were excellent. I hadn't been to Carmine's in years and it was exactly how I remembered it.

We walked back from 44th Street down to Penn Station and that's 10 blocks so we just window shopped and leisurely walked down to get our train. Next thing you know...we were home.

I haven't had such a perfect day in my life with my mother and I cannot say enough about the show or dinner or just the time spent with my mother and sister. Just to be a little dramatic, I'll say it was a day that I had been waiting for all my life to spend with my mother.

If Patty Lupone ever appears in anything and you're able to go, I say go. You will not be disappointed!

Now I am back to reality and will get some pages done to make up for lost time over the last three days.
